Extractions
Depending upon the condition of the teeth and gums, a dentist may also prescribe antibiotics that are to be taken before or after the procedure to clear up any infections. The day of the extraction you will receive local anesthesia to numb the tooth, jawbone and surrounding gums. If you're especially anxious about experiencing tooth extraction pain, sedation dentistry can be used to help you relax. Because your pain receptors have been numbed, you may sense a dull pressure, but you shouldn't feel any tooth extraction pain. Dr. Toth will remove the tooth and cover the exposed gum with a small piece of gauze.
